In 2016, we reaffirmed our commitment to improving health and well-being conditions in Basey and Marabut, raising awareness on the importance of access to safe water and improved sanitation. We developed capacities among the inhabitants and taught them by example how to build and operate rain harvests with Biosand filters and VIP latrines connected to biodigesters. In addition, we establishesd “cascade” (knowledge transfer) groups that are responsible for continuing the promotion of hygiene practices.
Now, the inhabitants can extend the impact and replicate the infrastructure in their homes and those of their neighbors.
