“Natura: Paisaje Latinoamericano. Colección FEMSA.”
The exhibition “Natura: Paisaje Latinoamericano. Colección FEMSA” is composed of 30 artworks that tackle diverse notions and visions on landscape such as Dr. Atl’s gaze on volcanoes, María José de la Macorra’s embroidery art and conceptual propositions backed up by Miguel Fernández and Oscar Rivas’s technology. This sample was exhibited in Durango’s Museo de la Ciudad 450 and in Aguascalientes’s Museo de Arte Contemporáneo No.8.
During 2017, we presented “Natura: Paisaje Latinoamericano. Colección FEMSA”; it’s an exhibition that offers a tour across nature’s perception of transformation over the course of the 20th and 21st century in Latin America.
This selection of works groups different visions of our surroundings. It encompasses Dr. Atl’s gaze on majestic sights on mountains and volcanoes that were captured through the lens of Manuel Álvarez Bravo and Gabriel Figueroa; María José de la Macorra’s embroidery art and conceptual propositions was backed up by Miguel Fernández and Oscar Rivas’s technology. The sample composed of 30 artworks of modern and contemporary Latin-American art encompasses diverse disciplines, techniques and materials such as the ones found in nature’s landscapes.
We presented this exhibition in the Museo de la Ciudad 450 de Durango during the city’s 454th anniversary. Additionally, we hosted a conference with artist María José de la Macorra and afterwards we exhibited in Museo de Arte Contemporáneo No. 8 de Aguascalientes and we held a conference there with Betsabeé Romero; we talked with the audience and gave a workshop targeted for the community’s visual artists.
